The superb British Jazz Pianist Will Bartlett has been based in Germany since 2018, but returns to the UK to play a short tour with his Trio featuring the brilliant young German bassist Tabea Kind and the excellent London based drummer Pat Davey.

Will Bartlett won the BBC Big Band Most Promising Musician in 2001, then studied in London with John Taylor and in New York with Mike Ledonne. He was the pianist for the National Youth Jazz orchestra from 2005-2008 and before moving to Germany was very active on the London Jazz scene playing with Kenny Wheeler, Jim Mullen, Nigel Price, John Dankworth, Norma Winstone, Claire Martin, Toni Kofi, Steve Williamson, Peter King, Stan Sulzmann and Jamie Cullum.

In 2022 he released the critically acclaimed 'The Soundless Dark' - a collection of his compositions setting lyrics by the renowned poet Philip Larkin to music which features the incomparable voice of Norma Winstone and Tony Kofi on saxophone.

Tonight, the trio will be playing Will's dynamic original compositions together with a choice selection of standards, both modern and old. This creative line-up find unique harmonies and a deep interplay full of spontaneity and risk-taking. Most importantly, they play with the deep swing of the American jazz tradition, which ensures every performance is full of energy and excitement.
