DAVE NEWTON / RIAAN VOSLOO / TONY ORRELL - a new trio featuring three of the very best musicians in the region. Dave Newton is acknowledged as one of the country's finest jazz piano players, and has been voted "Best Jazz Pianist" in the British Jazz Awards a record 14 times. Multi-talented bassist, composer, arranger, educator and producer Riaan Vosloo brings his encyclopedic knowledge of tunes by both well known and lesser known jazz composers. The unique drummer Tony Orrell has been a mainstay of the Bristol jazz scene for over 40 years having played with Spirit Level, Sphere, Andy Sheppard's Pushy Doctors and now his current band Big Top.

Expect to hear an eclectic choice of material ranging from familiar tunes all serious jazz fans would know from composers like Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans and Duke Ellington to rarely heard masterpieces by Bobby Timmons, Paul Bley and Sergio Mendes. To quote Dave Newton "Interesting tunes played differently".
